Information we process

Requests and tool inputs

We process the information needed to answer your request. This can include browser search queries, requested manual names, distribution and package filters, MCP tool names, and MCP tool arguments. Returned manual text is delivered to your client.

Technical and operational data

Our systems may process IP addresses, proxy-reported network addresses, user-agent information, request method and path, response status, request duration, trace identifiers, and error type. The website also creates short-lived hashed network identifiers to enforce rate limits.

Website analytics

When enabled, the website loads Anglerfish's Umami analytics service at umami.anglerfishsoftware.com to understand page usage and service performance. The MCP endpoint does not require an account.

Support communications

If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, and other information you choose to provide.

How we use information

• Provide manual search and retrieval results.
• Apply rate limits, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
• Diagnose errors, monitor reliability, and improve relevance and usability.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.

Service providers and disclosure

We use infrastructure and observability providers, including Railway for hosting and Logfire when telemetry export is enabled. Those providers process information on our behalf to operate and secure manpage.ai. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Anglerfish, or the public.

Retention

Operational logs and telemetry are retained for 30 days and then deleted. Short-lived rate-limit records expire with their rate-limit windows. Support correspondence may be retained while needed to respond and maintain appropriate business records.

Payments and accounts

manpage.ai does not require an account, purchase, or payment, and we do not collect payment-card information through the website or MCP server.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can use the MCP service without creating an account. You may request deletion of personal information or support correspondence that we control by emailing hello@manpage.ai. We may need enough information to locate the relevant records and may retain information when required by law or necessary for security.
