These terms govern your use of the manpage.ai website and public MCP server, operated by Anglerfish Software, LLC (“Anglerfish,” “we,” or “us”). By using manpage.ai, you agree to these terms.
The service
manpage.ai provides search and retrieval access to indexed Linux manual pages. Results can vary by distribution, release, repository, architecture, package, package version, section, and locale. No purchase or payment is required to use the current service.
Permitted use
You may use manpage.ai for lawful personal, educational, research, and commercial purposes, subject to these terms and the displayed rate limits.
Prohibited use
You may not:
- Disrupt, overload, damage, or interfere with the service or other users.
- Evade rate limits, probe non-public systems, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Use the service to violate law or another person's rights.
- Misrepresent manpage.ai output or provenance in a way that is deceptive.
Manual-page content
Search results include third-party manual pages originating from Linux distributions and software packages. Their authors and licensors retain their rights. manpage.ai's indexing or display of a manual does not transfer ownership, change its license, or imply endorsement by its authors or distributors.
Availability and changes
We may apply rate limits and may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service. We do not promise that every manual, distribution, release, or historical package will always be available, or that results will be complete or error-free.
Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, manpage.ai is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Verify important behavior against the software and documentation for the system you actually operate. You are responsible for commands you choose to run.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anglerfish will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from use of or inability to use manpage.ai.
Enforcement and updates
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address violations of these terms. We may update these terms as the service changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
